font-size: 24pt;\"><strong>ICANN Will Eliminate the 60-day Domain Transfer Lock Period &#8211; HostNamaste.com<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Geneva;\">At the ICANN 82nd meeting in Seattle, after voting, it has been agreed to eliminate with its long-standing 60-day domain transfer lock policy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Geneva;\">This modification results from the GNSO (The Generic Names Supporting Organization) Council&#8217;s Transfer Policy working group adopting a thorough 163 page report with 47 recommendations to restructure domain transfer procedures.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Geneva;\">For the new domain registration or transfers, a 30-day (720 hour) lock period will take place of the 60 day lock that was previously required following a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hostnamaste.com\/clients\/cart.php?a=add&amp;domain=register\"><strong>domain registration<\/strong><\/a><\/span> or <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hostnamaste.com\/clients\/cart.php?a=add&amp;domain=transfer\"><strong>domain transfer<\/strong><\/a><\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Geneva;\">Along with changing and streamlining alerts and Transfer Authorization Code (also known as an EPP code or auth code) handling, the amended policy also adds steps to prevent DNS misuse and more.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Geneva;
