I promise to convince you that your business really needs a\u00a0<strong>Status Page<\/strong>. Or at least I\u2019ll try.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"What_is_a_status_page\" style=\"font-family: Verdana, Geneva; font-size: 24pt;\"><strong>What is a Status Page?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Geneva;\">If you have read this far then you must have a sliver of hope..yay! Thanks for believing in me. So let\u2019s start..first off,\u00a0<strong>what is a status page?<\/strong>\u00a0To make this simple and also for the lack of a better analogy (I can\u2019t think of a better one), consider a status page like a Notice Board. You remember those? A Notice Board at a school or college had all information of upcoming events and other important announcements\u00a0 the college had to communicate to its students. It was the one source of truth. Similarly, a status page for your business is one that communicates important information about the services that you offer and how it may affect your end users.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Geneva;\">Why does your business need it? Before I get to the technically correct answers, let me tell you a quick story. Do you remember 14th Dec, 2020? Well, I remember it rather vividly. It had just been a week since I joined Freshworks as a Product Marketer says Gauri M. I was still getting a hold of all their systems and accesses, getting acquainted with team members\u2026you know how it is in your first week at a new job. On this Monday morning, while I grabbed my cup of coffee to check my emails quickly, I realised I wasn\u2019t able to. I saw an error which said \u201cTemporarily disabled\u201d. My Gmail for business account was \u2018temporarily disabled\u2019. One by one, in a matter of 5 seconds, a sense of panic filled me up..this was the sequence of my thoughts:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Geneva;\">Is my\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hostnamaste.com\/blog\/how-to-install-wireguard-road-warrior-vpn-on-vps-hostnamaste\/\"><strong>VPN<\/strong><\/a><\/span>\u00a0not working?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Geneva;\">Is my Wifi not working?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Geneva;\">Did my Gmail business account get locked because there was a security breach?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Geneva;\">Did I not complete some mandatory steps while onboarding?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Geneva;\">Did I get\u00a0<strong><em><b><i>fired<\/i><\/b><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0from my job already? \ud83d\ude42<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Geneva;\">I know..that escalated rather quickly in my head. I hopped on to Slack and saw 147 new messages. So many others had the same issue. It wasn\u2019t just me..phew!
